Larry Smith (1938-2018) was an American puppeteer and children's programming producer active in the Cincinnati area since 1957. He is best known for hosting 'Larry Smith's Cartoon Club' on WXIX Television, a popular afternoon puppet/cartoon show that aired throughout the 1970s. Raised in Dayton, Ohio, he developed a passion for puppetry in childhood and made his TV debut in 1952. Smith created memorable characters like Hattie the Witch and Snarfie the Dog, becoming a beloved figure in children's entertainment until his retirement in 2000.
