Lina Badimon Maestro is a Spanish physiologist born on February 24, 1953, in Barcelona. She specializes in cardiovascular research and has been a research professor at CSIC since 1992. Badimon leads the Department of Molecular and Therapeutic Pathology at the Biomedical Research Institute of Barcelona, where she started an innovative research line on cardiac injuries at the cellular and molecular levels. She directs the Catalan Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and is an adjunct professor at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. Badimon has published over 250 articles in prestigious international journals.
