Lokendra Bahadur Chand was the 27th Prime Minister of Nepal, serving four terms. His tenures were from 1983 to 1986, temporarily in April 1990, from 1997, and from October 2002 to June 2003. He was awarded the Madan Puraskar in the Nepali year 2054 for his book 'Bisarjan'. Chand played a key role in Nepalese politics during his time in office.
