Lucho Macedo was a Peruvian musician, pianist, composer, and arranger renowned for his contributions to salsa music. Born in Lima on February 18, 1930, he led La Sonora, one of the most innovative and successful orchestras in Latin music. Initially influenced by Sonora Matancera, he evolved his style to incorporate instrumental solos from guitars and winds, exploring various musical genres including guaracha, son montuno, Latin rock, and Latin jazz. He passed away on March 2, 2017.
