Manuel Estanislao Ovejero Contreras was an Argentine footballer born on May 24, 1933, in Ledesma, Jujuy, Argentina. He played as a goalkeeper for various clubs, including River Plate and Argentinos Juniors, and had significant stints in Mexico, Peru, and Colombia, where he became a celebrated figure and regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in Santa Fe's history. Ovejero passed away on November 8, 2015, in Buenos Aires. In his honor, the Club Atlético Gorriti organizes an annual children's football tournament.
