Gregorio Manuel Pérez Martínez, known as Cura Pérez and Poliarco, was a Spanish priest and guerrilla fighter born on May 9, 1943, in Alfamén, Aragón. He was ordained as a priest in 1966 by Pope Paul VI and initially served in Getafe, Madrid, where he aided the poor. After being expelled from the Dominican Republic, he moved to Colombia, where he worked in impoverished areas. He became a leader in the guerrilla movement after Manuel Vázquez Castaño's death in 1973 and died of illness in the Colombian mountains on February 14, 1998.
