Marga Drechsel (February 6, 1931 - October 12, 2023) was a German batik artist, painter, and graphic designer. Born in Cainsdorf, she married Edgar Drechsel in 1952. Her passion for batik emerged after visiting an exhibition in 1955. She worked freelance from 1957, creating significant pieces alongside her husband. Marga's work was influenced by Greek antiquity and Christian values. They had exhibitions in East Germany and abroad. Marga was an honorary member of the Zwickau Art Association and is buried with her husband in Johannisfriedhof Weißenborn.
