Marian Korn was a Czechoslovakian printmaker born on February 15, 1914, in Chomutov, Austro-Hungarian Empire. After moving to Prague and graduating from the Women's College of Prague in 1931, she married in 1938 and emigrated to the United States in 1939. In 1949, she moved to Tokyo. At age 56, inspired by her daughter, she began her printmaking career. Korn received honors for her work, including memberships in Shuyōkai and Kokugakai, and she passed away in Tokyo on February 24, 1987.
