Marina Basina (Marianna Yakovlevna Basina) was a writer born in 1916 in Starodub. She was the wife of writer Arkadiy Gordine and the mother of Yakov Gordine. Basina graduated from the A.I. Herzen Leningrad Pedagogical Institute and contributed to the creation of Russian language textbooks, anthologies, and dictionaries. In the 1950s, she published several artistic and documentary books.
