Kopisto began his music career as a drummer in a boys' band and later studied at the Sibelius Academy. He dedicated 40 years to teaching music, particularly clarinet and saxophone, at the Kauniainen Music Institute. Throughout his career, he collaborated with various filmmakers on movie soundtracks and composed for documentaries. He passed away on January 15, 2020, at the age of 70.
