Martha Rivera-Garrido, born on January 19, 1961, is a Dominican writer associated with the 80s Generation literary cohort. Initially recognized as a poet, she gained prominence with her debut novel 'He Olvidado tu Nombre,' which won the International Novel Prize of the Casa de Teatro in 1996. Rivera-Garrido is the great-granddaughter of poet Gastón Fernando Deligne and has lived in the United States and Puerto Rico. A street in Santo Domingo was named in her honor in 2013.
