Martin Lings, also known as Abu Bakr Siraj al-Din, was an English writer, scholar, and philosopher. He was a student of Swiss metaphysics teacher Frithjof Schuon and served as a reference for the works of William Shakespeare. Lings is best known for his book 'Muhammad: His Life Based on the Earliest Sources,' published for the first time in 1983, which continues to be printed. His work has contributed significantly to understanding Islamic philosophy and the historical context of the Prophet Muhammad's life.
