Masahiro Tanaka (February 8, 1939 - April 16, 2009) was a renowned Japanese horn player known for his pivotal role in Japan's horn community. He served as the principal horn player for the NHK Symphony Orchestra and taught at Musashino Academia Musicae. A graduate of Musashino Music University, he participated in the first post-war European tour by a Japanese orchestra. He was influential as both a soloist and in chamber music. Additionally, he contributed to music education through his work at various institutions and authored several publications on French horn playing.
