Masaru Kitano is a Japanese chemist and educator, born on May 29, 1942. He serves as the president of Akiyama School of Short-term University and is a former professor at Meiji University and an emeritus professor at Shukutoku University. His areas of expertise include environmental chemistry and safety science. He obtained his Ph.D. in engineering from Tokyo Metropolitan University in 1972, with his thesis focusing on photodecomposition and gas chromatography. Kitano is a member of the Japan Society for Analytical Chemistry and continues to reside in Adachi, Tokyo.
