Mattias Flink is a Swedish mass murderer who killed five women and two men in Falun, Sweden, on June 11, 1994. At the time of the killings, he was a second lieutenant in the Swedish army and was experiencing significant psychological issues, including mood swings, sleep disturbances, paranoia, and jealousy. His troubled upbringing, exacerbated by his mother leaving the family, contributed to his actions. Flink was initially sentenced to life imprisonment, but in 2011, his sentence was reduced to 30 years. He was released on June 9, 2014, after serving two-thirds of his sentence.
