Merziye Feriqi was a Kurdish artist and singer born in 1958 in Marivan, Iran. She completed her studies in Sanandaj, excelling in her teacher training. Feriqi began singing at the age of nine and was actively involved in political movements, joining Iranian communist parties and Kurdish parties in Iraq. After relocating to Sweden in 1985, she paused her music career until 1994. Her 2003 song 'Referandum' gained popularity, and she collaborated with renowned composer Helkot Zahir. Tragically, she passed away, leaving six unfinished songs, which her daughter later completed.
