Michael Postel is a French pharmacologist, art collector, and Buddhist, recognized for his significant contributions to the Musée Asiatica in Biarritz, dedicated to Chinese and Indian art. He founded Franco-Indian Pharmaceuticals in 1949, which evolved into a pharmaceutical conglomerate. After arriving in India for business, he amassed over 1,600 pieces of Indian art, later donating his collection to the museum. In 2016, he received the Padma Shri award from the Government of India for his contributions to art.
