Mikko Ensio Sams, born on May 2, 1953, in Helsinki, is an emeritus professor of cognitive neuroscience at Aalto University. Previously, he was a professor of cognitive technology at the Technical University. He graduated from the University of Helsinki with a bachelor's degree in philosophy in 1979, followed by a licentiate and a doctorate in 1985. His research spans areas including human sensory information processing in the brain, with over 150 scientific publications as of 2000, and he served as a secretary for the Finnish Psychological Society from 1975 to 1978.
