Milan Cieslar is a Czech film and television director, born on April 26, 1960, in Český Těšín. He studied at the Secondary Film School in Čimelice and completed his education at FAMU in Prague in 1984. After a year of military service, he began his career as an assistant director at Barrandov Film Studio while collaborating with Czechoslovak Television. Following the 1989 social changes and the privatization of Barrandov, he became a freelance artist and media entrepreneur, founding his own production company, Happy Celuloid, in 1993.
