Millie earned her Bachelor of Arts in American Indian studies and film from UC Berkeley in the late 1990s. Her advocacy included contributions to the Indians of All Tribes movement and co-writing the documentary 'Alcatraz is Not an Island.' She played a key role in promoting Indigenous Peoples' Day as a counter to Columbus Day.
