Mitsuru Yaku, born Hideki Hatayama on March 12, 1959, is a Japanese manga artist and sumo wrestling enthusiast. He serves as the vice president of the Japan Insect Association. In addition to his work in manga, Yaku is active as a commentator on television and radio programs, as well as an essayist. His pen name, 'Yaku Mitsuru', is a clever play on 'yaku man', a term from mahjong. He initially debuted in 1981 under the name 'Hatayama Hacchi'.
