Mohammed al Amin Hamad al-Nil al-Taher al-Izirq (February 20, 1943 - November 13, 2023) was a Sudanese musician and singer born in Wad Madani, Al Jazirah State. He is regarded as one of the icons of contemporary Sudanese music and has significantly contributed to its development and dissemination beyond Sudan. He began his musical journey in childhood, learning the darbouka and later mastered the oud by the age of twelve. He passed away on November 13, 2023, in Virginia, USA, after battling illness.
