Prof. Dr. (H.C.) Drs. H. Muhammad Nu'man Somantri, M.Sc. (1932-2020) served as the fourth Rector of IKIP Bandung from 1978 to 1987 and was the sixth leader of the Bumi Siliwangi campus. He began his career as a lecturer at his alma mater and previously held the position of Assistant Rector for Academic Affairs. His contributions are commemorated through the naming of the FPIPS Faculty building at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia.
