Mushegh Durmishyan was an Armenian physician, pathologist-physiologist, and professor, born on December 27, 1910, in Shaki, of the Elisabethpol Province in the Russian Empire, and died on January 20, 1961, in Moscow, USSR. He graduated from Yerevan State Medical Institute in 1930 and served as the head of the dialectics of nature department at the First Leningrad Medical Institute in 1932-1933. Durmishyan was a proponent of neurism and studied the interrelations between pathological phenomena in the human body and psychic conditions, as well as issues related to radiation sickness.
