He served as a cleric at the Petro-Paul Cathedral in Samara and was a member of the Union of Writers of Russia, renowned for his collections of short stories and two historical novels. He also held the position of rector at the Saratov Theological Seminary from 1991 to 1995. He passed away on June 17, 2019, and was honored with the Patriarchal Literary Prize in 2014.
