Nikolay Gusev is a Russian and Soviet composer, rock musician, and co-founder of the band Avia. Born on May 12, 1957, in Leningrad, he graduated from the Leningrad Electrotechnical Institute and the Music School of the Leningrad Conservatory, studying jazz piano. He debuted in the student band Labyrinth and played in several groups, including the Argonauts and Barocco. Gusev has been a key member of Avia, contributing as a composer and vocalist. He has also worked in cinema and released solo albums while remaining active in music with the band NOM as of 2023.
