Nodar Chitanava (1935) was a Georgian and Soviet statesman and party official. He served as the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Georgian SSR from April 14, 1989, to November 15, 1990. A member of the Communist Party since 1958, he held various significant positions, including Deputy Chairman and Secretary of the Georgian Communist Party. Chitanava earned a doctorate in economic sciences and worked as a director at a scientific research institute focusing on economic and social issues in Georgia.
