Odas Nicholson (1924-2012) was an influential attorney, activist, and judge in Illinois. Notably, she served as a delegate and secretary of the Sixth Illinois Constitutional Convention, where she contributed to the state's first new constitution in a century. Nicholson played a key role in advocating for gender equality and the resolution to eliminate poverty. Additionally, she was the first African American woman to graduate from DePaul Law, lead the Women's Bar Association of Illinois, and serve as a judge in the Cook County Circuit Court's Law Division.
