Ofelia Morton Bermea is a Mexican environmental chemist, petrologist, and geophysicist, born in Coahuila on February 20, 1960. She specializes in geochemistry, environmental contamination, human exposure pathways, risk assessment, health effects, and risk communication. Bermea is a researcher for PRONACES Toxic Agents and Contaminating Processes and the Socio-Environmental Observatory of the Sonora River. She was one of the first women responsible for the ICP-MS Laboratory at UNAM's Institute of Geophysics and is a pioneer in environmental mercury studies. She received the Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz Medal.
