She graduated from the Kyiv Art Institute in 1984 and pursued further education abroad. As a representative of the New Ukrainian Wave, she has received various grants and showcased films in major exhibitions worldwide, including at MOMA in New York. Her works have earned accolades at multiple film festivals across the globe. Chepelyk is a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1994.
