Oksana Liaturynska was a Ukrainian sculptor, poet, painter, writer, and public activist born on February 1, 1902, in Katerburg. She emigrated to Czechoslovakia in 1924, where she became involved in the cultural life of Ukrainian emigration and started her literary career in Prague. Liaturynska was recognized for her sculptural portraits, participated in exhibitions across major European cities, and created monuments including one for fallen soldiers in Pardubice. After World War II, she moved to Aschaffenburg, Germany, and later settled in Minneapolis, continuing her artistic work and writing poetry until her death on June 13, 1970.
