Oleg V. Tozoni was a prominent scientist and inventor specializing in electro-dynamic and electrical engineering. He led the Department of Electrodynamics at the Cybernetics Institute of the Academy of Science in the USSR from 1964 to 1988. Following his immigration to the U.S. in 1989, he became a Visiting Research Professor at the University of Maryland. Tozoni continued to innovate with his MDS maglev system until his death from cancer in 2012, and his work lives on through TozoniMAGLEV, L.L.C.
