Patricia Schonstein (born 1952 in Southern Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe) is a South African-Italian novelist, poet, youth literature author, and anthology editor. Writing under the name Patricia Schonstein-Pinnock, she is known for her works that blend magical realism, metafiction, and narrative fiction. Her novels, deeply inspired by her experiences and historical events, honor child war victims in Africa and refugees, intertwining harsh realities with mythological and magical elements. Her debut novel Skyline was a finalist for the South African Sunday Times Literary Award in 2001.
