Sir Paul Douglas Nicholson is an English industrialist and former Lord Lieutenant of County Durham. Born on March 7, 1938, he was educated at prestigious institutions like Harrow School and Cambridge. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, he joined Vaux Breweries, eventually becoming Chairman of the Vaux Group. He has held several significant positions including Chairman of the Tyne and Wear Development Corporation and the Northern Region of CBI, and was knighted for his services to industry in 1993. An amateur rider, he has published an autobiography.
