Petar Goryanski, born Petar Nikolaev Mateev, was a Bulgarian writer, journalist, and literary critic, born in Yambol on January 5, 1911. He studied law at Sofia University and worked as a librarian. Goryanski published articles and reviews, contributing to the newspaper 'Literary Voice'. In 1941, he became a dramaturg at Skopje National Theater. He signed a letter defending Bulgarian Jews and was a member of the Bulgarian Writers' Union until 1944. After that, he wrote for the opposition press until he was readmitted to the union. He died in Sofia on January 29, 1990.
