He joined the BBC in 1991 as a presenter for national weather forecasts and later became the main weather presenter on BBC London News in 2002. Cockroft continued to serve in this capacity until his last broadcast on December 27, 2013. His contributions to weather broadcasting have made him a recognized figure in British media.
