Peter Paul Prier was a German-born American violinmaker, music teacher, and businessman, born on February 27, 1942. He founded Peter Prier and Sons Violins in 1965, originally known as the Violin Making School of America. In 1972, he expanded his business into a teaching school where many contemporary craftsmen developed their skills. Prier also established the Bow Making School of America in 1998, contributing significantly to the art of violin making and education in the field.
