Piet Steenkamp was a Dutch economist, politician, and university professor born in 1925 in Aouthorn. He served as the President of the Senate of the Netherlands from September 13, 1983, to June 11, 1991, and was a member of the Senate from June 22, 1965, to June 8, 1999. He was affiliated with the Christian Democratic Appeal since October 11, 1980, and was part of the Catholic People's Party. He passed away in Eindhoven in 2016.
