Pino Betancor Álvarez was a Spanish poet born in Madrid on May 1, 1928. Although originally from Sevilla, her family moved to Madrid shortly after her birth. She showed artistic talents in writing, dance, singing, and acting from a young age, making her literary debut at 18. In 1950, she first visited the Canary Islands and later married poet José María Millares Sall. Due to political pressures, they moved to Madrid before permanently returning to Las Palmas in 1973. She contributed to various local newspapers and magazines before passing away on January 3, 2003, at the age of 75.
