Vitali Vladimiroviç Astaxin (born February 2, 1951, Baku) is an Azerbaijani musician and trombone player, recognized as a People's Artist of Azerbaijan since 2005. He graduated from the Baku Music Technical School in 1973 and has played in prominent orchestras, notably with the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater and the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic. Since 1986, he has served as the concertmaster of the trombone section of the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra. He was honored with the title of Honored Artist in 1991.
