Mitko Marinov Gogoshev was a Bulgarian scientist and physicist, holding a doctorate in physical sciences. He co-founded Thracian University and served as the director of the astronomical observatory in Stara Zagora since 1974. Gogoshev is recognized as one of the pioneers of space research in Bulgaria. Posthumously declared an honorary citizen of Stara Zagora in 1997, a street in the city is named after him.
