Yaroslav Vasylovych Verkhovynets was a Ukrainian flutist and educator, born on April 11, 1925, in Kyiv and passed away on June 3, 2011, in the same city. He was recognized as a distinguished figure in the arts of Ukraine in 1998. Verkhovynets graduated from the Kyiv Conservatory in 1948 and later contributed to the symphonic orchestra of the Kyiv Opera and Ballet Theater from 1948 to 1988. He also taught at the Kyiv Music College, authored several works for flute and piano, and was involved in research and publication of his father's works.
