He was one of the creators of ASVT-M and SM computers. A representative of the scientific school of corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Sciences I.S. Bruk, he was a close associate of the chief designer of SM computers, academician B.N. Naumov. Filinov is regarded as part of a group of scientists whose names are rightfully inscribed in the history of domestic computing technology.
