Joseph Abu Khalil was a Lebanese politician affiliated with the Kataeb Party, serving for over 75 years. He was the editor-in-chief of the party's newspaper, Al-Amal, from 1968 to 1988, and was a close advisor to Presidents Bachir Gemayel and Amin Gemayel. He held multiple positions within the party, including member of the political bureau and former secretary-general. After Sami Gemayel became the party leader in 2015, Joseph Abu Khalil served as the first deputy president until his death on December 14, 2019, at the age of 94.
