Zhang Pengxi (born February 5, 1931) is a Chinese geochemist specializing in salt lakes. He graduated from Beijing University of Geosciences in 1956 and became a researcher at the Qinghai Salt Lake Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 1997, he was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He also served as the director of the Qinghai Salt Lake Research Institute, contributing significantly to the understanding and research of salt lakes in China.
