Vladimir Mikhailovich Svistunov (February 8, 1941 – February 25, 2017) was a Ukrainian Soviet physicist who specialized in low-temperature physics and superconductivity. He completed his studies at Kharkiv State University in 1963 and worked at the Donetsk Institute of Physics and Technology from 1965 to 2003. His research contributed significantly to the discovery of the Josephson effect, including the development of tunnel spectroscopy methods for studying superconductors. Svistunov authored over 200 scientific papers and received several awards for his contributions to the field of physics.
