Quincy Delight Jones Jr. (born March 14, 1933) is an American record producer, conductor, songwriter, and television producer with a career spanning 72 years. He has won 28 Grammys from 80 nominations and was awarded a Grammy Legend Award in 1992. Jones became prominent in the 1950s as a jazz arranger and conductor, later producing successful pop albums, especially for Michael Jackson. He made history as the first African American nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song and has been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
