Quinn Michael McNemar (1900-1986) was an influential American psychologist and statistician best known for his contributions to IQ testing and for developing McNemar's test in 1947. He authored the notable book 'Psychological Statistics' in 1949. McNemar earned his degree in mathematics from Juniata College and later completed his doctorate under Lewis Terman at Stanford University, where he became a faculty member. He served as president of the Psychometric Society and the American Psychological Association, retiring from academia in 1965 but continued teaching until 1970.
