Rauni Pekkala is a Finnish schlager singer born on March 2, 1942, in Pieksämäki. She became quite popular in the 1960s. Her career began in 1960 when she placed second in a schlager singing competition in Pieksämäki. Pekkala was the lead singer for Herbert Katz's band for five years and participated in Finland's Eurovision song contest selection in 1963. After the 1960s, her appearances decreased significantly, but she continues to perform. She has also appeared in films and television programs, including singing roles.
