Raised in Jiangsu, she experienced significant historical events in China. After graduating from National Central University in Chongqing, she became an active writer post-1949 in Taiwan. Pan worked as an editor and chief editor in Taiwan's Ministry of Education and published numerous works, including award-winning novels and children's books. She passed away from lung cancer on November 3, 2005, at the age of 87.
